In the near future, the environment has been destroyed, and society suffocates under a brutal military occupation. A lone Cree wanderer, Weesakechak, searches an urban war zone to find the ancient and dangerous Weetigo to help fight the occupiers.
About the Director
Danis Goulet (Cree/Metis) is an award-winning writer and director. Her short film Barefoot (2012) was recognized with a Special Mention by the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival Generation 14plus International Jury. Her previous films have screened at numerous festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Aspen Shortsfest, the Berlin International Film Festival, and the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival. Goulet is an alumnus of Canada’s National Screen Institute and the TIFF Talent Lab. Goulet was born in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and now resides in Toronto.
