Johnny Barrington was born in Inverness, Scotland, in 1977 and began his career working as a photographer. He later attended the Glasgow School of Art and the Göteborg School of Photography and Film in Sweden. Since then Barrington has written and directed four short films, including Trout, which screened at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, and Terra Firma (2008), and he has made a number of music promos. He is currently developing his first feature film, Aberdeen Angus, and a television series, Antarctica. He lives and works in Glasgow.
