Director Grant Orchard joined Studio AKA in 1997, and he soon gained attention for his idiosyncratic design and his varied and flexible approaches to projects. Orchard has won two prestigious D&AD awards and received recognition for his first independent short film, Welcome to Glaringly. In 2007 he created 10 mini-films (Lovesport) for the Italian television channel QOOB. Each Lovesport episode interprets a sport such as skiing, sumo wrestling, or high diving in an original, funny, and deceptively simple manner.
