Valentina Brazzini Born in Buenos Aires, Alexis Dos Santos spent part of his childhood in a small Patagonian village. He studied architecture and trained as an actor in Buenos Aires and Barcelona. In 1998 he relocated to London, where he attended the UK's National Film and Television School. While there, he wrote and directed four short films: Watching Planes, Axolotl, Snapshots, and Sand, which won numerous awards. His debut feature film, Glue, was shot in his hometown in Patagonia and premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2006, where it won the MovieSquad Award. It also screened at Toronto and went on to win more than a dozen international awards. Unmade Beds, Dos Santos’s second feature, premiered at Sundance in 2009, screened at Rotterdam, opened the Generations section of Berlinale, has won numerous awards, and has been sold to 18 territories. |
