Kangmin Kim was born and raised in Incheon, South Korea. He studied communication design at the Samsung Art and Design Institute (SADI) in Seoul. Since graduation, he has been studying at CalArts, concentrating on creative visualization using handcrafted media with designed backgrounds. Kim is especially interested in stop-motion techniques because the process of reconstructing with his hands leads him into new areas.
