Based on Kelly McMasters’s memoir about growing up in a nuclear-reactor community, this stirring film illustrates the dire health consequences for many residents in Shirley, her Long Island hometown. Yet despite the known risks of utilizing nuclear power, our country’s rapidly increasing energy needs are fueling a nuclear renaissance.
Don Argott Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce opened their production company, 9.14 Pictures, in 2002 with a focus on creating original nonfiction programming. They have produced five feature-length documentaries: Rock School, Two Days in April, The Art of the Steal, Last Days Here, and The Atomic States of America. Argott and Joyce are also engaged and currently live in Philadelphia with their five cats. They are not planning a wedding anytime soon. Don Argott and Sheena M.
